This unbelievable animation was achieved with old photos from the 1900’s

It is a short film titled “The Old New World” by the photographer and animator Alexey Zakharov in Moscow.

The photos are from cities like New York, Boston, Detroit, Washington, D.C., and Baltimore between 1900 and 1940.

As Zakharov points out:

It’s a photo-based animation project, a travel back in time with a little steampunk time machine. The main part of this video was made with camera projection based on photos.
