Paths of light: Airplanes look like fireflies in those mesmerizing timelapses

Usually we see  the airplanes approaching and departing in real time. But if you speed up the footage and use creative techniques, you get transported to a sci-fi world where the flight paths transform into paths of light and the airplanes into swarming fireflies or shooting stars breaking spectacularly into the atmosphere.

And here is a timelapse of the busy skies over Las Vegas, Nevada. A nearly continuous stream of airline traffic can be seen shuttling eager visitors in, and returning visitors back out of the main airport…
